Déa Self My most recent series of work includes birds and landscapes inspired by living in the Ozarks. This body of work is more graphic than the looser, expressive brushwork of my figurative paintings. The figurative paintings have been inspired by these graphic color and composition-centered works. Focusing on color and imagination inspires me when working directly from life. Both styles feed off of one another to create separate but equal bodies of work. I have a wide variety of shaped canvases and sizes ranging from postcard size to mural size work.
